The 19th day of the Hebrew month of Kislev is celebrated as the “Rosh Hashanah of Chassidism.” It was on this date, in the year 1798, that the founder of Chabad Chassidism, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi (1745-1812) known as the Alter Rebbe , was freed from his imprisonment in Czarist Russia. More than a personal liberation, this was a watershed event in the history of Chassidism, heralding a new era in the revelation of the “inner soul” of Torah. Alter Rebbe

Citadel Broadcasting Corporation and 77WABC announced the hiring of Don Imus as the station’s new morning host beginning Monday, December 3rd. Imus is bringing his team back to the radio on 77WABC including newsman Charles McCord. The show will air 6-10am on 77WABC and will be syndicated nationally by the ABC Radio Network.Imus (more…)

Palisades LEGO Menorah!

Wednesday, December 5, 2007: Chabad Lubavitch of Rockland will be building a huge Lego Menorah of around 13 ft tall, at the Palisades Center Mall, on the first floor, near Lord & Taylor. The program will be held from 5-7 PM. They are expecting hundreds of children from all across Rockland County! For more info, please call 845-634-0951. Following the event, they will be donating the LEGO pieces to the children in Nyack Hospital and Good Sam Hospital. Please call Rabbi Goldberg for exact times. Lord & Taylor will distribute a special gift to every adult participant!

After Annapolis: PA Television Erases Israel From Map

Two Bethel residents held in bungalow burglaries

Two Bethel residents broke into a string of bungalows before they were arrested Saturday, police said.

Head scarf gets girl benched

Syria Agrees to Attend Mideast Summit

Arab holdout Syria agreed Sunday to attend a Mideast peace conference called by President Bush to restart talks to resolve the six-decade conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, yet expectations for the summit remained low.
