Skydiving plane missing over Washington state
Ground and air rescue teams were searching rugged terrain in Washington state Monday for a skydiving plane that went missing Sunday night.
The single-engine aircraft was carrying nine skydivers and a pilot. It was en route to Shelton, Washington, from Boise, Idaho, officials said.
The plane, a Cessna 208 Caravan, fell off radar at 8 p.m. (11 p.m. ET) Sunday, about a half hour after taking off from Boise, according to the FAA. The flight normally takes about two hours, but because of strong headwinds the plane was not expected until about 11:30 p.m. (2:30 a.m. ET).
Weather conditions were good for the flight, officials said.
