Lieberman gets a rude welcome
It wasn’t quite the welcome wagon for Sen. Joseph Lieberman at his new home in Stamford.
Anti-Iraq war protesters gathered outside the Hayes House condominium Tuesday afternoon to protest Lieberman’s support for the war. Lieberman wasn’t home at the time.
John Murphy, a member of Connecticut Opposes the War, [COW], said they want his neighbors and others to tell Lieberman they’re opposed to the war. He said it’s a tactic they’re going to use to try and get Lieberman to advocate removing U.S. troops out of Iraq.
“He is increasingly becoming isolated from his electorate. We find the best way to do it [sway Lieberman] is to talk to his neighbors.”
