NYPD Officer Shot In Brooklyn

A New York City Police officer has been shot in Brooklyn.

The officer was riding in the passenger’s side of the patrol car with the window rolled down. It was a cool evening, so he had his arm outside the vehicle. As the patrol car passed a housing project, someone shot him.

Coloring Cases Recalled on Lead Fears

2 trains collide in Rio de Janeiro suburb, 8 killed

IDF reveals it stopped 15-year-old suicide bomber on Gaza Border

Man extricated from car after Palisades crash

A 27-year-old man had to be extricated from his car after he drove into a tree on the Palisades Interstate Parkway northbound between exits 12 and 13 in Ramapo about 3:20 p.m. yesterday. The driver was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, said Hillcrest Fire Chief Chris Kear. State police, the Spring Hill Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedic Services also responded to the scene.

Car crashes into Monsey apartments

A car crashed into the Regency Village Apartments at 1 Fletcher Road in Monsey shortly after 5:30 p.m. yesterday. The driver and three passengers, all minors, were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, Spring Hill Ambulance Corps Capt. Steve Kaye said. The Spring Valley Fire Department, Rockland Paramedic Services and the Spring Hill Ambulance Corps responded to the scene.

Wayward Emu Corralled in Parking Lot

Employees of a Wal-Mart Supercenter used shopping carts to corral a wayward emu outside the store Monday about 6 a.m., West Bend police said.

Girl Found Shot in Crown Heights

A 12-year-old girl, who was with her 5-year-old brother, was struck by a bullet on St. Marks Avenue in Crown Heights. It was reported that the bullet “exited her body” on the left side. The girl was not badly hurt and even managed to react calmly by heading to a bodega for safety.

A woman who was shopping at the store had said that the girl tugged at her shirt, “She came to me and said, ‘Miss, I got shot in the back.’ She was a brave, confident, little girl with a strong spirit.”
