Ramapo, NY - Homeless Man Indicted in 2 Robberies
Ramapo, NY - A 29-year-old homeless man was indicted in connection with two robberies in Ramapo. Kevin Brice, who has no known address, was indicted on five felony charges of robbing two people in Spring Valley and in Monsey.
District Attorney Michael Bongiorno said Brice and others robbed a man at knife point on Main Street in Spring Valley. Bongiorno said a knife was put to the victim’s throat while Brice and others demanded money. After knocking the victim down, the group fled, but again confronted the 23-year-old man about a block away - near Furman Place - where they beat him and stabbed him in the stomach.
Brice is also accused of robbing at gun point a 28-year-old New Hempstead man of about $500 at the closed drive-in theater in Monsey.
A third case, in which Brice has been accused of taking a man’s gold bracelet near a 24-hour mini-mart at 25 S. Main St., is still being investigated, Bongiorno said.
Brice was arrested on Main Street in Nyack, and he is charged with first-degree robbery and four counts of second-degree robbery, felonies. He faces up to 25 years on the first-degree charges and up to 15 years on the second-degree charges. Brice is to be arraigned Tuesday.
